For tech aficionados, ‘Nothing’ has long been something. And that ‘something’ just got a bit more tangible in the UAE with the recent launch of the Nothing Phone (2).

The new model boasts a meatier processor, an upgraded camera, and enough blinking lights to make a disco ball blush. Sure, it’ll cost a few extra dirhams, but considering the near-flagship specs it’s packing, that’s still quite the bargain.

Elsewhere, you get an an improved battery, fast charging, and even reverse wireless charging so you can top-up things like headphones on the go. Nothing’s also claiming it can go from 0 to 50% in just 20 minutes. Impressive? If true, then yes.

And what of the cameras? You get a new front-facing 32-megapixel shooter, as well as a rear dual-sensor array with a spanking new 50-megapixel Sony sensor. It’s not going to replace your DSLR anytime soon, but it will give your Instagram feed one heck of an upgrade.

According to Nothing, the Phone (2) can process up to 4,000 times more data than its predecessor. It also lets you shoot in 4K at 60 frames-per-second – for slow-mo cat video enthusiasts.

The Nothing Phone (2) will be available this weekend starting at AED2,500.

But does it truly live up to the hype? Full review, coming soon.
