When it comes to style, sophistication and slick design aesthetic, there are few people (living or dead) who can hold a candle to Giorgio Armani. Over the past half-century, the iconic Italian fashion designer’s aesthetic has been applied to menswear, womenswear, accessories, hotels, interiors, nightclubs and even cars. Which is why we are excited (but not surprised) to hear that Mr. Armani has designed a 72-meter long superyacht.
Designed entirely by Giorgio Armani, the two-vessel project is in partnership with boatbuilder, The Italian Sea Group, and will be based on the latter’s Admiral design and expected to make its maiden voyage in 2024.

“The sea and design are two of my greatest passions,” said Armani at a private event in Milan this week announcing the project.
The Admiral 72 will combine aspects of the nautical and fashion worlds by amplifying Armani’s unmistakable style in both the exterior lines and the refined interiors.

Timeless minimalism has always been part of the designer’s creative philosophy, and when adapted to the new superyacht it redefines the high-end megayacht concept in a radical but elegant way, basing itself on the principles of simplicity and sophistication.

“With this new collaboration, I have extended my idea of furnishing and decor to the nautical world, in which – just as in fashion – aesthetics and functionality come together in a natural and elegant style,” stated Armani. “This highly stimulating project has allowed me to create customised spaces with Armani/Casa – like made-to-measure clothing – with the same craftsmanship applied to the choice of materials, details and production.”

It uses refined materials, fine hand-crafted finishes, and a masterful mix of soft or vibrant colours to achieve a minimalist luxury design.
The Admiral 72 superyacht will be able to accommodate up to 14 guests across seven staterooms, as well as space for a crew of 20. Amenities onboard feature a large beach club, a pool towards the aft of the main deck, a private spa and a helipad. It will be built to ice-class specifications with a full displacement steel hull and a transatlantic range of over 5,500 nautical miles.
Admiral 72 has an expected delivery date of early 2024.
