The wrecked 1989 Lamborghini Countach that Leonardo DiCaprio’s character smashed up in the film “The Wolf of Wall Street” will be one of the headline cars to be auctioned off by Bonhams at a sale in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
In time for the 15th edition of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the weekend gets underway with an exclusive ‘On the Grid: The Abu Dhabi Auction’ featuring more than 30 of the world’s most desirable collector cars, including former F1 racecars, state-of-the-art supercars, and, yes, that car from the unforgettable scene in The Wolf of Wall Street starring DiCaprio playing US stockbroker Jordan Belfort.
Also headlining the exclusive auction are F1 cars that have not only competed, but also triumphed in Grands Prix including Mario Andretti’s 1978 John Player Special Lotus-Cosworth Type 79, and Kimi Räikkönen’s McLaren MP4/21.

The auction takes place on November 25, in front of a live audience at start line of Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit. However, if you can’t get down there but fancy owning a piece (or two) of automotive history, then you can stream the auction on Bonhamscars.com.

Sales from the ‘On the Grid: The Abu Dhabi Auction,’ held by Bonhams Cars are expected to reach over US$20 million.
