The Saudi Grand Prix is set to return to the Kingdom for a fourth consecutive year, it has been announced. The 2024 race will take place on March 7-9, a change to its previous weekend format, with the Grand Prix taking place on Saturday night in order to avoid a potential clash with the start of the holy month of Ramadan, which is scheduled to begin the following week.

Taking place on Jeddah Corniche, the course is touted as the world’s fastest street circuit, with Formula One cars averaging around 250km on the Carsten Tilke-designed course. If you’re looking for other big numbers, well it’s also the second longest after Belgium’s Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Saudi F1

The announcement on the Saudi Grand Prix was made as part of the provisional release of the 2024 FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar, meaning that the Jeddah race weekend will once again be the second match-up of the season, when the championship will be wide open and all still to play for under the lights on the shore of the magnificent Red Sea.

The scheduling marks a quite remarkable bookend for the Middle East on the racing calendar. Just another sign of the shift in power that’s happening across sport. The F1 season will begin in Bahrain, then move to the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the penultimate weekend sees the tour head to Abu Dhabi, with the final weekend of racing hosted in Qatar.

Travis Scott Saudi grand prix

Last year’s visit of F1 to Jeddah proved a real spectacle, which saw Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez take the top podium spot in front of 140,000 fans, ensuring that there has been a different winner in the Jeddah race each year.

While Travis Scott (above), Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia performed at last year’s post Saudi F1 concerts, the names for 2024 are yet to be announced. But expect something typically big.

While nothing is available yet, you’ll be able to buy tickets for the Saudi Grand Prix and after race concerts here.
