Maserati has revealed its latest creation, the MCPURA, at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s a name that combines two things the brand is known for: performance and purity.

Based on the MC20, the MCPURA comes in both coupé and convertible versions, the latter called Cielo. While the powerful 630-horsepower V6 Nettuno engine remains at its heart, Maserati has refined almost everything else. The exterior has been sharpened, the interior upgraded, and the craftsmanship pushed to a new level.

Goodwood, with its mix of classic motorsport and modern icons, was the perfect place for this global debut. Under the spotlight was the car’s striking new Ai Aqua Rainbow paint – matte for the coupé, gloss for the convertible. It’s a blue that shifts in the sunlight, inspired by the way a prism breaks light into a spectrum.

Other design details include magenta-and-blue Trident badges, new wheels with a burnished diamond-cut finish, and a cabin finished in pale Alcantara. The seats are laser-etched with the Maserati logo, revealing futuristic red-and-blue iridescent patterns beneath.

The campaign line is simple: E = MCPURA, a nod to energy, and a clever twist on Einstein’s famous equation. Available immediately in coupé and convertible versions, the new MCPURA has four distinctive features: the carbon-fibre body; the Maserati-patented V6 Nettuno engine; the “Butterfly” doors; and the retractable glass roof, for the convertible version (MCPURA Cielo). Specifically, the carbon-fibre monocoque pairs rigidity and lightness, so much so that the total weight comes in at under 1,500 kg. Thanks to its power output of 630 CV, it comes out best in class in weight/power ratio: 2.33 kg/CV.
