The new Audi Artemis concept that is reportedly planned to go into production in 2025 will be unveiled at IAA in Munich in September, but a first look has leaked online.
Tesla, known for its electric vehicles, has a strong competitor now as Audi aims to create efficient electricity-generated cars that are also planned to be autonomous.
The Audi Artemis project has been working to develop cars to be electric from the outset, making the initiative have a one up on Tesla’s initial development, which did not have those options when producing cars.
Audi CEO Markus Duesmann started the Artemis project to develop a “pioneering model for Audi quickly and unbureaucratically.”
Mark Lichte, head of design, is making big promises for the model.
“We want to offer first class traveling, and that means you’re not sitting in the second row, you’re sitting in the first row,” Lichte explains. “Because there is no reason to sit in the second row because the driver is the software: because this guy is able to drive autonomous, Level 4. That means, the steering wheel can disappear.”

Audi will showcase its first vehicle from the initiative at the inaugural IAA Mobility show in Munich in September.
“This car is a very, very concrete teaser for the production vehicle, which maybe you know as Artemis. [The] Artemis project will go into production in 2025. So, it’s a very concrete teaser,” said Head of Design Marc Lichte to Slash Gear.
Announced in May, the Audi Artemis project is an initiative to bring technological thinking to the car design world.
The IAA Mobility Show is aiming to be ‘the’ car show in Europe. Several businesses and companies like automakers, bike companies, and more will showcase new electric vehicles. The new Audi Artemis can be the spotlight of attention for the event. The show will take place from Sept 7-12, 2021.
