The famed British car manufacturer’s latest can reach 350 km/h

British car manufacturer Aston Martin have just announced the arrival of its latest, the Aston Martin Valhalla–a hybrid supercar capable of reaching just under 350 kilometres per hour.

The car was revealed at last weekend’s British Grand Prix, which saw Aston Martin compete as a manufacturer for the first time in over 60 years.

Co-sponsored by Cognizant, the company returned to the Formula One this year and made it into the top 10 with Germany’s Sebastian Vettel finishing in eight place.

Evolving from its predecessor the Valkyrie, The Valhalla achieves its incredible top speed thanks to its 937 horsepower which combines a 740 horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine with two electric motors (one on each axle) and utilizing active aerodynamics at the front of the car and rear spoiler as well as tunnels underneath the car that can direct the air.

All of this means that the car can go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in under 2.5 seconds. Its body is primarily comprised of carbon fiber and it weighs 1,550 kilograms.

Surprisingly, its internal combustion engine isn’t British by nature. It actually comes from the Germans, specifically Mercedez-Benz.

Moving on to the interiors, Aston Martin have done away with the smartphone mounted system in previous cars. Now, a central touchscreen presents a new infotainment system that also supports Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto.

In 2020, the company was acquired by Canadian Billionaire Lawrence Stroll who you may know as the de facto villain in the third season of Netflix’s Drive To Survive series. In fact, it’s surprising that the Valhalla arrived this year as Stroll had stated that he was putting the Aston Martin’s electric car projects on hold for a while.
