Lamborghini’s Sian – the automaker’s first hybrid supercar – was secretly running on-road tests yesterday, when it was papped by a gearhead.
The Sian (LKB48H) will be the first Lambo to sport both an electric and traditional engine, similar to the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari La Ferrari.
From what we can see from the images, the Sian looks like Lamborghini’s Terzo Millennio concept – while the overall concept is inspired by the Countach.
The rear features three LED lights and an active spoiler, with the endplates fixed to the bodywork.
Oh, and it also looks like the Batmobile.
The supercar is touted to come with a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 785-horsepower. The electric motor adds another 34-horsepower, for a combined output of 807 horses.
The hybrid system uses a lithium-ion super-capaciter to store energy, before using it once more in the wheels.
These spy shots are the first we’ve seen of the Sian, and while the fact it is being tested on roads is promising – don’t expect it to see a full release until much later in the year (or perhaps even early 2021).
After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day (and neither are Lamborghinis).
