Great Scott!

Scientist Doc Brown’s famous DeLorean might be hitting the streets very soon in its new, revamped avatar. Made famous by Back to the Future in 1985, the DeLorean DMC-12 is one of the most iconic film cars of all time. Now, it seems the car could be poised for a comeback.

While the car was only produced from 1981 and 1983, with little more than 9,000 models made. And despite the car being a commercial flop at first, its cult-film status means the cars now sell for more than US $30,000. Vice president of DMC James Espey recently confirmed that plans are in initial stages to prepare for a limited production run of a next-gen DeLorean.

While the car will be mostly unchanged from the original, there will be a few additional features like power steering, cruise control, and 21st-century headlights.

Long story short, recently, the Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act was passed by the US Congress in 2021, which means the famous car could make a return to the streets in 2021.
