British actor Idris Elba – who recently played the villain in ‘Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw’ is teaming up with Ford to help promote the brand’s first 100 per cent electric SUV.
The new motor is inspired by the legendary Mustang range.
The idea behind getting Elba onboard was not random, even though Ford is quintessentially American and Elba just about the most British person alive.
Elba has a long history with the Ford Motor Company, as explained by Elba: “Most people don’t know this, but I worked at Ford as a young guy. My dad also worked at Ford. It’s practically in my blood. So working on this project and getting behind the wheel of a car that takes us all towards the future feels like things are coming full circle, but with more exhilaration and tech.”

Elba has worked with automobiles before. In 2015, he embarked on a tour of Europe to promote the merits of the Jaguar XE.
Ford’s all-electric SUV is destined to be revealed on November 18, 2019. It will be exhibited for the first time from November 22 to December 2.
Not very much is known about the new SUV. Ford has published a single sketch of the vehicle and claims it will have a maximum range of around 600 km. That would put it ahead of the Tesla Model Y.
As for what it will look like, the design will supposedly draw inspiration from Ford’s Mustang line.
