Apple’s Vision Pro headset – which pairs both virtual and augmented reality into one computer for your face – is set for release on February 2.
Pre-orders in the US kick off on January 19, but if you’re in the UAE, hold your horses. There’s no word on when this will land on our sandy shores.
The Vision Pro is more than just a fancy headset. CEO Tim Cook calls it “the dawn of spatial computing,” a tool for connecting, creating, and exploring in ways we’ve only dreamed of.
But dreams come at a cost. At $3,499 (AED12,850) it’s a price tag that’ll make even the most devoted Apple fans wince. For that you could snag four iPhone 15s and still have change to spare.

The Vision Pro ditches old-school physical controls, opting for a more “Black Mirror” vibe with eye-tracking, voice commands, and gesture recognition.
A standout gimmick? FaceTiming in a virtual world. It morphs your face into a 3D avatar for those calls. Innovative? Absolutely. Practical? We shall see.
Designed with what we’ll call a ‘scuba mask’ aesthetic, the Vision Pro flaunts a feature called EyeSight, which will let other people see your eyes behind the glass.
With a hefty 256GB storage, Apple isn’t skimping on space. But if you’re a glasses-wearer, prepare to fork out extra for a pair of Zeiss custom prescription lenses (the headset isn’t exactly glasses-friendly).
So unfortunately, for those in the UAE, the wait continues for this slice of futuristic tech. Stay tuned, as we keep our eyes peeled for any news on the Vision Pro making its UAE debut.
