The latest edition of Apple’s iMac has arrived, now with an M4 chip under the hood and available in seven fruity colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver.
Apple’s shiny M4 chip – which presumably powers it with ethereal Apple juice – contains an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU (for mere mortals just trying to stream Emily in Paris, that means no more buffering).
Prices start at AED5,500 (US$1,300) for models equipped with two Thunderbolt USB-C 4 ports. For those who’d like to pay extra for more holes to plug things into, the higher-end version offers four ports and hikes the price to AED6,340 (US$1,500).

There’s no point in having a fancy chip without a blob of innovation alongside it, right? Apple has swapped its go-to Lightning ports for USB-C charging ports across the new iMac range. Perhaps they finally realized that different chargers for each device was the tech equivalent of a practical joke.
The 24-inch, 4.5K display is back, now with an optional “nano-texture glass” add-on. This feature is supposed to reduce glare for those who fancy planning their next world domination from sunlit rooms.

Apple’s thrown a few more carrots in the mix, including increasing the base RAM to 16GB, with an option to upgrade to 32GB. For those particularly taken with admiring themselves during Zoom calls, there’s a new 12MP webcam that hopefully will not solely reveal every blemish and bag under your eyes.
Alongside, Apple is rolling out its Apple Intelligence suite, including AI-powered writing and editing features, which are surely not programmed to mock your grammar. If you wanted a bigger model, tough luck. Apple confirms there’s no plan to replace the now dearly departed 27-inch version that relied on Intel juice.
The loyally brave iFans among you can preorder this new desktop assortment now, with availability starting November 8th.
