If you still find it hard to contact your favourite influencer via direct message, the app’s next update might not be for you.
It looks like the social media company want to become your go-to app for voice and video calls as well as somewhere to share your arty #35mm holiday pics.

Reliable tech leaker Ishan Agarwal shared images of some files buried in the Instagram Direct messaging app which has icons for both ‘Call’ and ‘Video Call’ which would presumably allows users to use the app as a phone as Snapchat have introduced.
But TechCrunch point out, “The addition of voice and video calling would make Instagram a better chat alternative to Snapchat, which first launched video calling in 2014 and enhanced the feature with easier access plus audio and video notes in 2016.
Instagram has been working hard to leapfrog Snapchat with new features like replay privacy controls that Snapchat lacks.”
Now they just need to find a way to ensure you don’t accidentally call the person you like while you’re stalking them.
