This is the droid you are looking for

We all knew there would come a day when robots would rise up to take over, and that day is here. Well, kind of. Meet Balthazar. A desk clock from the creative geniuses at MB&F, less about taking over world, and more about taking over your desk.

Constructed of 618 micro components by Swiss manufacturer L’ Epée 1839, Balthazar is a serious piece of kit that will dominate most coffee tables.

At 40cm tall the clock can also clasp objects and rotate to show both sides of its personality. With a light side and a dark side, you can turn the torso of Balthazar depending if it’s a good or bad day. For those good days, the light side has a smile along with 35 days of power reserve on display, on top of this it has skeleton like clockwork through two discs on the chest.

Balthazar’s ‘brain’ holds the precision regulator for the clockwork and is neutral, operating for both sides. All of this can be changed in a one spin. The dark Balthazar side has devil red eyes, a not so human smile and a menacing shaped skull. On the chest of the dark side is a moon phase display, which is accurate for up to 122 years.

This clock is available in black, silver, blue or green armour. Only 50 pieces per colour are made.
