Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will take on Manchester footballer Jesse Lingard as part of Gamers Without Borders

Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua is set to take on Manchester United footballer Jesse Lingard, in an exhibition FIFA match later today.

Lingard called out Joshua on Twitter, asking “So Anthony Joshua thinks he’s king of the ring and FIFA! Well, I’m going to show him June 21 at 11:30am UK time as part of the world’s biggest charity eSports festival Gamers Without Borders.”

hance, Jess Lingard. See you then.”

The exhibition match will take place as part of Gamers Without Borders’ Elite Series, an initiative created by the Saudi eSports Federation.

More than 30 gamers and celebrities will face off in the world-class charity tournament, which will see a total prize fund of US$10 million go up for grabs, with the money going to humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF, Direct Relief, International Medical Corps and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre.

The action will continue up to August 8th, with exhibition matches around Counter-Strike, Fortnite, Rocket League, PUBG Mobile and of course, FIFA 2021.

Just yesterday, Barcelona icon Ronaldinho and former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos took to the virtual stage, with Ronaldinho taking the win.
