2020 has seen a truly staggering number of players take part in the Battle Royale

Epic Games had a very good 2020. An extremely good one.

This year saw Fortnite attempt to go from gaming mainstay to culturally relevant, and went beyond the usual fight-and-survive style of gameplay to hosting in-game concerts from the likes of Travis Scott and J Balvin.

Most recently it closed out Season 4 with a Marvel Galactus event with help from Disney.

According to Fortnite, the Travis Scott performance attracted 12.3 million concurrent players, with more than 45.8 million more views afterwards. And the Marvel event saw 15.3 million players take to the Fotnite Island at the same time, with another 3.5 million plus watching on YouTube Gaming and Twitch.
