They kept us waiting long enough

Probably one of the most aniticipated gaming consoles for the last few years, Play Station has kept a very tight lip on everything to do with the new Play Station 5.

Now, for the first time ever, PlayStation CEO and President Jim Ryan revealed the new logo during the Sony CES keynote event in Las Vegas.

In September 2019, Sony dropped some big news that revealed the official name for the next-gen console, an unclear release date and news about the updated Dualshock 5 controller.

So far rumour suggest that the long-waited PlayStation 5 will be hitting shelves during Christmas 2020.

The PS5 is already primed to be a major step up from the 2013-launched PS4. It’s expected the PS5 will have the following: Ultra-fast SSD for faster loading, 4K support for graphics, 8K video graphic support, an eight-core processor, and ray tracing, which is used for super-realistic lighting. Other additions include the haptic feedback controllers, VR support, 3D audio and backwards compatability.

A leak surfaced in 2019 showing what the PlayStation 5 could look like. Sony however did not return a request for comment on the leaks.

But until Sony actually end up officially revealing something, we’re going to be kept in the dark about the final product deisgn, the cost and its eventual release date.
