Between producing 2016’s sci-fi hit 10 Cloverfield Lane, and pre-production on next year’s Uncharted film adaptation, director Dan Trachtenberg has been busy working on a new Warframe introductory trailer.
Warframe is a massive multiplayer that first debuted in 2012. It was first released on the PC, followed by PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after that, and the game officially hit the Nintendo Switch just last year.
The trailer sets up the epic, ongoing battle between members of an ancient warrior race, and their clone army opposition.
Fans of the series describe Warframe as a ‘space ninja simulator’, something that becomes quite evident by Digital Extremes’ – the graphics team behind Trachtenberg’s trailer – second video.
While the game is quite old – in video game terms – its fans have kept the game afloat, while developers have embraced a free-to-play model and providing gamers with regular new content. Players then choose to support the game by buying optional upgrades and skins.
Formerly a host on web series, The Totally Rad Show, Trachtenberg made waves in 2011 with a fan film based around Valve’s Portal franchise.
As well as Uncharted, the director is also attached to fictional Harry Houdini biopic and sci-fi flick, Crime of the Century.
