Spike Lee New Era Collection

International snapback stalwart New Era has launched its latest range of new caps, collaborating this time with New York filmaker and long-term celebrity Yankees fan, Spike Lee.

The 1996 Collection is borne out of Lee’s request to New Era 18 years ago for a scarlett red Yankee’s hat, to which the company CEO Chris Koch replied in kind – producing a limited selection of these famous lids in colours other than the traditional dark navy, including green, yellow, orange and red.

When Lee wore his scarlett number to game three of the 1996 World Series in Atlanta, the public clamouring for the headpiece was instantaneous – ushering in a whole new awareness for the New Era brand.

Here’s the four strong new range, all lined with silk carrying Spike’s repeated signature.
