Today is world chocolate day, and Cadbury decided to celebrate with technology.
It has just unviled the world’s first Cadbury Dairy Milk 3D printer in Melbourne, Australia. Chocolate lovers in the city will get to create their very own selection of 3D-printed chocolate pieces, built layer by layer by the 3D printer.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be launching the world’s first Cadbury Dairy Milk 3D Printer, in celebration of World Chocolate Day,” said Katrina Watson, Marketing Manager of Cadbury Dairy Milk.
The 3D-printer was originally put together in England, and travelled all the way from the UK for its official debut.
The world’s first 3D printed chocolates cost around AED20 for a pack of two, and AED35 for a pack of four.
July 7 supposedly marks the day that chocolate was first brought to Europe back in 1550. It has been an ‘official’ day since 2009.
Today, it’s though some 1 billion people eat chocolate every day, and the organic chocolate market is now valued at AED3 billion a year.
