Plush velvet banquettes, intimate spaces, extraordinary art and the name “Perlage” derived from the French term used to describe the effervescent bubbles rising to the surface in a champagne glass – it is clear from the off that this new night spot on Al Maryah Island is cool-elegance personified.
From the minds of those clever people at Tashas Group’s (Flamingo Room, Avli, Galaxy Bar), the new Al Maryah Island based bar immediately launches itself to the top of this list of stunning nightspots in the UAE capital thanks to its unique and luxuriously-edgy aesthetics.
Having partnered with the world renowned Maison Perrier-Jouët, the new Abu Dhabi destination invites guests on a journey of champagne-based concoctions looking to swizzle your senses.
Aesthetically, the design of the Perlage is instantly standout. The secluded entrance is adorned with mirrors covering the walls, looks to evoke effervescent champagne bubbles while the murals on the entrance corridors are created using artistic elements from a number of established artists, with the final result both playful, intimate and edgy.
The space is awash in shades of rouge with silver accents, and dynamic disco balls are suspended from the centre of the ceiling. Even the bartenders exude an urban street-inspired look, with fashion-forward overalls.
“We are thrilled to be opening Perlage in Abu Dhabi,” says founder Natasha Sideris. “We set out to create a unique experience that is both elegant and edgy. The space is the most beautiful colour of red and everything within it has been thoughtfully considered – the cocktails, the menus, the uniforms, lighting and music.”
The creative menu showcases an array of exotic cocktails, boasting excellent names such as: Born To Be Wild, Hugs & Kisses and, for anyone who’s having some serious ’90s Matt Damon withdrawals, How ’bout Them Apples.
Based on the sneak-peak images alone, Perlage is determined to distinguish itself from other bars in the area, staking its claim as the new go-to spot for anyone looking to explore Abu Dhabi’s rapidly expanding, never compromising social scene.
Whether or not you’ll see Ben Affleck, or any other Harvard bad boys, in attendance remains to be seen, but we suggest keeping your eyes open.
