- A new post-prohibition bar, Phoenix Social Club, to open in Dubai
- The bar-and-lounge concept will be located at the H Hotel
- It is working on partnerships with music academies around the world to bring new talent to the venue every month
Dubai’s busy nightlife scene will have a suave newcomer next month with the opening of a post-prohibition lounge and bar, the Phoenix Social Club.
Opening at the H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, the venue is promising a ‘modernized nostalgia’ aesthetic with the owners describing it as a place where old and new collide and featuring ‘fine sharing’ dining and drinking and upbeat vibes.
Phoenix Social Club is inspired by the supper clubs, or social clubs as they were known back then, of 1930s and 1940s Los Angeles, Miami and New York, that brought together dining, drinking and dancing.

The food is produce-centric with an eclectic array of flavors and multi-cultural cooking techniques served as art, ‘fine-sharing’ style designed for guests to explore new horizons with a loose tie and without prohibitive price tags.
The plans include an experimental day every week after summer, showcasing upcoming dishes in a degustation style as well as collaboration menus with international chefs.
Music at Phoenix Social Club will be live for three days a week during Summer and extended into Fall. Soulful tunes of Modern Jazz, heavy on brass instruments and backed by subtle beats that increase throughout the evening to give way to Nu Jazz and Jazz-House.
The team is working on partnerships with music academies around the world to bring new talent to the venue every month to keep the sound fresh and accompany the monthly supper club parties.
The Phoenix Social Club opens in June 2019.
