To further bolster its well-established bustling reputation, it has introduced a series of new weekly club nights in typical Bagatelle fashion. Tuesday night has been dubbed ‘French Night’: whatever that means. But sure enough, it helps foster a party vibe that competiting bars would envy and it attracts a clientelle that other gourmet restaurants covet enviously.

While slightly watering down its ‘French Riviera’ concept, the new Wednesday night set up seems to take its notes from the US, with an evening of ’80s and ’90s tunes accompanied by the addition of two new dishes: a R‘N’B Burger and Banana Split. Curious, but potentially popular with a crowd more ready for the party than the pantry.

Although Bagatelle’s reputation for a go-to spot for the beautiful-and-fun, its food should not be overlooked.

Headed up by chef Timothy Newton, the Mediterranean-inspired menu deserves a thorough examining.

The signature cheese truffle pizza is an all-round winner, with even those who don’t eat cheese struggling not to have slice. The moist tuna tartare is another firm favourite, with a subtle chilli kick, and the hero salmon dish with its accompanying salt baked celeriac, spinach, lemon confit dressing is priced very well indeed at AED175.

For the meat-eaters amongst us, the tender grilled lamb chops, are beautifully seasoned and ideal when teamed with another French favourite, ratatouille.
Although there is rarely any space for dessert, we demand you save some. The new Cheesecake à la Mandarine from comes with a tangy pineapple compote, macadamia and lemon gelato. Perfect as a sweet finisher with the freakishly warm nights outside.

Bagatelle is the perfect mix of fun, glamour and great food, now just to decide which night to go on…?
