At long last, Emirates is finally opening up its Premium Economy tickets for booking to some of the most popular routes.
Want to be the first to grab a seat? The bookings will start on June 1 via Emirates, and will be available on A380 routes to London, Paris, and Sydney starting on August 1.
Premium Economy, which as a class is only available on Emirates in the region, will then become available in December to Christchurch.
So wait, what is Premium Economy exactly? It’s the missing link between economy and business.

It offers an upgrade from economy first and foremost by offering higher quality seats with more room, improved dining options, as well as a dedicated airport experience.
Emirates Premium Economy: What you need to know
Let’s take a look at the seats, shall we? There’s a wood panel finish similar to Business Class, with cream-coloured leather seats that recline eight inches, have a pitch of up to 40 inches, and are 19.5 inches wide, with calf and footrests for additional comfort, as well as easy in-seat charging points and a side cocktail table.

There are also six-way adjustable headrests for truly premium comfort.
Dining will also feature fine glasswear that will accompany improved meals with seasonable ingredients and regional influences all served on chinaware with stainless steel cutlery wrapped in a linen napkin—much more like Emirates’ business class offerings.
Premium Economy will make up 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration on the Emirates A380, with 24 on the Emirates Boeing 777.
“As with everything we do, Emirates Premium Economy will be exceptional in its class, with minute attention given to every aspect of the customer experience. Customers trading up from Economy will be getting excellent value,” says Emirates CEO.

“Since we first introduced our Premium Economy seats in January 2021, the positive response and demand has been tremendous. We currently have six A380s equipped with this cabin class, which limits our initial deployment, but our intention is to offer this experience to many more markets across our network.
“This November, we will begin our retrofit programme to install Premium Economy on 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s. At the end of the programme, Emirates will have 126 aircraft fitted out with Premium Economy cabins, as well as our latest interiors across other cabins. It is a major investment to ensure our customers continue to have the best experience in the sky.”
