Say hello to Emirates’ latest brand ambassador, Gerry the Goose.

Starting from today, the airline is launching a global advertising campaign called ‘Fly Better’ starring the the bird that will remind people of the luxurious experience that Emirates provides.

In the video, Gerry sees a bunch of other geese take flight to embark on a long journey. Gerry finds himself thinking “Wow, if I attempt to flap for that long, I’m going to be exhausted by the time I get there.” and decided to book a Premium Economy class ticket on Emirates instead.

Emirates' Dubai to London Heathrow is one of the most lucrative routes in the world

Clearly the saying “birds of a feather, flock together” isn’t a universal truth.

Gerry can then be seen enjoying a hearty meal as he sits back to watch the classic goosetern movie “The Goose, The Bad and The Ugly”. He then stares out of the window and sees that the plane is overtaking his feathered friends who are visibly exhausted from flapping for so long.

The ad will run in 25 countries for one month.

“In terms of the qualities and profile we look for in our brand ambassadors, we are spreading our wings.” said Richard Billington, SVP of Marketing & Brand at Emirates.

“Gerry is a savvy traveler who knows what he wants and where he wants to go, but he’s adamant he’ll do it in style, with luxury and comfort as a priority. Having witnessed his seamless travel experience, we are confident that next time, his friends will choose to Fly Better.”

Future ambassadors

falcon desert

While Gerry is currently occupies the position previously held by Jennifer Aniston, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Clarkson, a great idea for the next brand ambassador would be a falcon, being that it’s the national bird of the UAE.

Maybe Emira the falcon as it would play off the airlines name and also Arabic in origin.
