If you’re planning your Summer holidays, you can now add Spain to your list.
Spain just announced that all those who are fully vaccinated will be able to travel to Spain regardless of their country of origin.
“This summer we will safely receive all visitors that choose Spain as their holiday destination,” said Spain’s President Pedro Sanchez.

Further, Spain will also launch a ‘Digital Covid Certificate’ on July 1, which will ‘faciliate mobility within the European Union, guarantee the protection of public health, and allow the gradual resumption of economy activity in a safe way,” the country said in a media statement.
Pedro Sanchez, the President of Spain, made the announcement at the International Tourism Fair, stating, “With the Digital Covid Certificate, Spain will resume all its economic activity safely and we will achieve mobility within the European Union this summer.”

The certificate was agreed upon between the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament.
Spain’s also president clarified that this is not to be treated as a passport, nor travel document, and it is not a requirement for travel.
“It is a mechanism that will facilitate mobility, as well as arrival and passenger transit, and which will be launched as of 01 July,” he specified.

The last dose of your vaccine will be required to have been administered a minimum of 14 days before travel, said a statement from Spain.
Unvaccinated minors in the same family can enter with a negative PCR test, and children under 6 don’t need to have been tested. Vaccination certificates for minors or PRC results must be provided upon arrival.
Once the EU COVID Digital Certificate comes into force, these means of proof will also be accepted in digital format.
