For all aviation geeks out there, this hotel might be one you’ll definitly want to look into.
An Etihad plane was transformed into a boutique hotel in Wales. The plane was salvaged from a scrapyard in Cardiff and brought over to Pembrokeshire, Wales Apple Campsite by Toby Rhys-Davies.
The fuselage had to be cut into two parts due to its size to facilitate the plane’s transfer to the campsite.
This concept is not new to Rhys-Davies, however. He has other salvaged items at his campsite, and previously refurbished a 1970’s Lockheed JetStar.
The transformed Etihad fuselage is sectioned into two parts; one serving as a quirky hotel room with two beds, kitchen, and bathroom, and the second section being a barbeque area. The hotel room has its own wooden terrace where you can enjoy some quiet time outside.
Rhys-Davies kept the plane’s original kitchen, overhead compartments, windows and emergency exits. A shower has been added along with a sliding door leading to the terrace.
You can stay at the unique hotel for US$250 a-night. The hotel room accommodates up to four people. Rhys-Davies named the experience “Arabian Nights”, and planted palm trees around the area to live up to its name.
