Get ready to enjoy a different style of living the island life

Yachts are traditionally considered as being out of reach for normal folk. Most yacht owners still tend to be millionaires or Hollywood A-Listers. But that doesn’t mean you can’t holiday like you own one.

Now, you can actually book your very own yacht-cation (yup, we just coined that word), for our next holiday in the Maldives. This means that – if you’re staying at Jumeirah Vittaveli – you’re no longer confined to your land-based accommodation.

According to Jumeirah: “It’s the first resort in the Maldives where you can start your holiday by choosing between a selection of villas and a brand new superyacht called “MY Vittaveli” with 85 feet of private space.”

You can also rent the yacht out for just the day or a particular activity. MY Vittaveli is an Azimut superyacht that accommodates up to eight guests for overnight stays, or up to 20 guests for day-time cruises. The superyacht has two master cabins and two twin cabins, with each twin cabin offering a retractable extra bed. All en-suite bathrooms include hydrosonic massage bathtubs and full-sized Hermes amenities.

The new yacht is all about the experience. Guests can also choose a trip of up to four hours spent cruising around the idyllic Indian Ocean, or an overnight trip with a special beach BBQ dinner spent on a deserted island, or for a fishing trip or snorkelling excursion.

In other words, this means that guests can spend their time snorkelling with whale sharks in the Ari Atoll, deep diving into one of the Manta Ray cleaning stations near North Male Atoll or learning to fish the traditional Maldivian way – and enjoying the fresh seafood meal later on the deck dining area. If you’re more inclined towards speed, you could take a jet ski from the yacht and speed off into the waves.

So, have you booked yourself in already? We’re definitely planning to do just that.
