Johnny Depp has his next release lined up, and it’s a rock album with an absolute legend.

On July 15, Depp and guitar virtuoso Jeff Beck will release a joint rock album titled ‘18’ which is set to feature 13 songs. Two of which were originally written by Depp: “Sad Motherf**in Parade”and “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr”.

Jeff Beck announced on Instagram that the new single “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr” is available for download and that the album can be pre-ordered now.

“It’s an extraordinary honour to play and write music with Jeff, one of the true greats and someone I am now privileged enough to call my brother,” Depp said.

Echoing the same sentiment, Beck reminded everyone that even though the actor is universally known for his iconic Hollywood roles such as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of The Caribbean and Willy Wonka in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory to name a few, Johnny Depp is a talented musician and heavily contributed to this collaborative effort.

“I haven’t had another creative partner like him for ages,” said Beck.

“He was a major force on the record. I just hope people will take him seriously as a musician because it’s a hard thing for some people to accept that Johnny Depp can sing rock ‘n’ roll,” Beck continued.

Earlier this month, Johnny Depp performed a series of songs Jeff Beck in London, including hits by John Lennon, Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix at the Royal Albert Hall on three consecutive nights to which he received a standing ovation from the fans in attendance.

“When Johnny and I started playing together, it really ignited our youthful spirit and creativity.” Said Beck in a statement on his official website. “We would joke about how we felt 18 again, so that just became the album title too.”

The duo have been friends for many years. Beck even appeared on a song in 2012 with Johnny Depp’s music supergroup with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, Hollywood Vampires.
