One of the leading lights in Arab hip-hop, Felukah has really made the jump since dropping her debut EP “Yansoon” in 2018, making a name for herself between her home in New York and the Middle East. Earlier this year, the Lebanese-American music writer Danny Hajjar marked her as one to watch in 2023 for Esquire Middle East:
“All of the work Felukah puts into her music paid off big time with the huge year she had in 2022. The New York-based Egyptian artist was part of the Coca-Cola World Cup, and followed that up with the release her latest album, “The Love Serum”. After playing her first set for the prestigious Boiler Room last weekend, it appears things are well on track to fulfil Danny’s prophecy, with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop looking like being a very big year for the Cairo-born rapper.
