As the pop singer pulls out, Stormzy and Gorillaz confirm for the Dubai Halloween festival on October 27

Dubai’s Fiesta De Los Muertos is shaping up to be a bit of a whopper. Especially after it responded to grieving Nick Jonas fans – the singer pulled out last week – with confirmation that UK grime and rap megastar Stormyz would be taking his place.

He’ll join the likes of Gorillaz at the festival, where Time Out expects there’ll be playing his greatest hits:

“Will likely feature his biggest hits, including YouTube, smash hit Shut Up, which has to date generated nearly 70 million views. Stormzy also collaborated with Ed Sheeran on a remix version of global megahit Shape of You. While he regularly performs live with Sheeran, he also featured on a charity cover version of Bridge Over Troubled Water earlier this year. Stormzy is no stranger to the big stages of Glastonbury, either, and is also the first grime artist in history to hit the top of the UK album charts.”

This comes on the back of a statement made by Nick Jonas, saying he would no longer be able to make the October 27 festival date due to other work engagements. According to Jonas:

“Due to an unforeseen change in my work schedule, I am unfortunately no longer able to join you all in Dubai during Fiesta De Los Muertos. I hope to be able to make this up to you another time.”

Tickets begin at AED350, available at 117live.com.
