If the only thing getting you through those grueling January gym sessions is an industrial level of high octane hip-hop… and Calvin Harris, then you are not alone – at least if Spotify‘s most popular workout song survey is anything to go by.
The Swedish streamers wanted to find out which songs people listen to most while sweating off that Christmas shame, so it looked through data on its millions of users, and identified the artists and songs that appeared most frequently in playlists labeled “workout”.
Unsurprisingly, the most popular choices appear to be chart-friendly and high-tempo, meaning Joy Division just missed out on a top ten spot.
