In an extraordinary blend of past and present, Saudi Arabia’s historic Al Hamra Palace is set to transform into an ultra-luxury boutique hotel. This royal makeover is the brainchild of the Boutique Group, which has teamed up with OBMI, an international architectural design firm, and Jacques Garcia, a renowned French interior designer.
Al Hamra Palace, initially built as a royal residence for King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, has long been a symbol of regal hospitality. Nestled on Jeddah’s corniche, it has hosted a host of dignitaries, including presidents of Arab and Islamic nations, Richard Nixon, Diana Princess of Wales, and King Charles III.

Boutique Group’s CEO, Mark Cocinis, voiced his enthusiasm about working with OBMI and Jacques Garcia. Cocinis believes that their collective expertise will ensure the project meets the highest development and sustainability standards, while also respecting Al Hamra Palace’s rich cultural roots.
Douglas Kulig, CEO of OBMI, echoed Cocinis’s sentiments, stating the design would honor the palace’s original structure through traditional Hijazi architecture. Meanwhile, Garcia admitted being inspired by the existing Islamic architecture of the palace, coupled with the unique charm of old Jeddah and its Hijazi influence.

The vision for Al Hamra Palace is to offer a truly regal experience, seamlessly combining elegant design, warm Saudi hospitality, and the Kingdom’s rich heritage.
