The do’s and don’t’s of gig etiquette

As the 2015 festival circuit begins soon, we were wondering what’s the social etiquette was to going to a gig past the age of, we dunno, 25? Esquire grabbed Canadian singer Kiesza, who was in town this weekend for RedFestDXB on the Reebok Stage, and asked her to give us some tips on how to survive a gig like a gent.

A man’s taken you on a date for a gig, what would you think if he was wearing the band’s tee?

I think it would be cute. I love wearing band Tees and would find it sexy.

Singing really loudly along to every word – social faux pas or would that impress you?

It would impress me! It would show that he’s committed to the things he care about in his life.

Where do you stand – at the front, somewhere in the middle, or hang around at the back?

It depends how loud the music is. I love to be upfront when I’m rocking out, in the middle when I’m dancing, and in the back when I’m trying to cool off before I head back onto the dance floor.

What’s the biggest gig faux pas a man can make?

Hitting on a girl when he’s completely wasted.

Give us three tips to surviving a festival with style…
