James Cameron’s Avatar is known for its diverse alien world of Pandora and a local Dubai resident, Jyo John Mulloor has imagined what the city would look like if it was set within the film’s world of Pandora.

Using digital art, Mulloor has placed Dubai locations such as the Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, Museum of The Future and Dubai Frame amongst the vast alien flora and fauna seen in the alien world.
Mulloor was inspired by UAE leaders
The Indian artist had shared his digital art on his Instagram and in the post’s caption, he credits both director James Cameron as well as leaders of the UAE such as His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Hamdan for inspiring him and the rest of the UAE to dream big and to believe that anything is possible.

“When @jamescameronofficial taught a generation it was okay to dream beyond imagination, our leaders @mohamedbinzayed @hhshkmohd @faz3 taught the same generation that with the right vision, strong heart & no fear, all dreams can be chased, caught and turned into reality.”
“Pandora is what you get when you interlace dreams with vision. Here in Dubai, impossible is nothing ♥️??.”
Speaking to The National, Mulloor can still remember seeing the original Avatar movie in Dubai and the impact that it had on him.
“Each scene was breathtaking, I had never seen anything like it, even in my dreams.”
“I came to Dubai in 2006 and I have seen so much development and advancement in technology and I wanted to see what the city would look like had James Cameron chosen it as a reference point while imagining the world of Pandora.”

“So this is my tribute to the master as a huge fan from Dubai.”
Avatar is back in Middle East theatres today
