While many of us are familiar with the iconic guitar lead From Guns N’ Roses Sweet Child O’ Mine present in the official trailer for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, another artist, British singer Kate Bush almost became a part of the MCU before the planned scene featuring her music was scrapped.
Speaking to Total Film, Christian Bale, who is set to portray the villain Gorr the God Butcher in the film had said that Bush’s music was the inspiration for a dance scene before director Taika Waititi decided to cut it.

“Taika and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we didn’t get to do, but we had all this sort of Kate Bush stuff that we worked at.” Said Bale, going on to state “I think he just realised he was never going to be allowed to put that in the final film.
Waititi also portrays Korg in the film so fans will be left speculating if Korg and Gorr the God Butcher would’ve engaged in a dance battle of some kind.
Kate Bush wasn’t Christian Bale’s biggest Thor inspiration
While preparing for the role, the former Batman star said “the most common thing I was staring at was the Aphex Twin video of ‘Come to Daddy’. But I don’t even know if that will be in the final film.”
Waititi, who also directed the previous film Thor: Ragnarok has a tendency to include classic songs in his films as the last film featured Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song during the final battle in Asgard.
Even without being a part of the MCU, Kate Bush is topping the charts as her song Running Up That Hill was recently No.1 on iTunes after recently being featured in the current season of Stranger Things.
Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theatres on July 8 with Natalie Portman reprising her role as Jane Foster, albeit a more powerful version of the character as well as Tessa Thompson who returns as Valkyrie.
