The Back to the Future star plays the character he inspired next to Jaeden Martell

Great Scott!

Christopher Lloyd, who played Doc Brown in the ever-beloved Back to the Future trilogy, just appeared as Rick Sanchez in a Rick and Morty promo.

Rick and Morty, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, was famously inspired by the Back to the Future trilogy, with Rick and Morty’s look and dynamic a play off of Lloyd’s Brown and Michael J Fox’s Marty McFly.

Lloyd, 82, also well known for his years on Taxi, as well as the Addams Family films, the Pagemaster, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, appears with actor Jaeden Martell in a live-action promo for the series on Adult Swim’s social media.

Will the two be playing Rick and Morty in the finale of the fifth season on Monday? We’ll have to wait and see.

Watch it here:

“Morty, we’re home,” says Lloyd, dressed in Rick’s trademark light blue shirt and white coat.

“C-132” is the only caption, signalling the alternate universe in which Lloyd is Rick.

Rick and Morty is about to conclude its fifth season, airing on Netflix in the Middle East, airing in the US on Monday, September 6.
