The comedy special features Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant and Kumail Nanjiani

Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror feels the same way about 2020 as most of us; with a new comedy special entitled ‘Death to 2020’.

“Even the creators of Black Mirror couldn’t make this year up,” the trailer begins, for what will be a ‘cathartic comedy event’ says Netflix. The streaming service says that it will be presented as ‘a landmark documentary-style special’.

The series has an all-star cast, including Samule L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Lisa Kudrow, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracey Ullman, Samso Kayo, Leslie Jones, Diane Morgan, Joe Keery and Cristin Milioti.

“2020: A year so [insert adjective of choice here], even the creators of Black Mirror couldn’t make it up… but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a little something to add,” the official Netflix synopsis read. “Death to 2020 is a comedy event that tells the story of the dreadful year that was — and perhaps still is?”

According to Hugh Grant, the show will look at the year 2020 from the point of view of a future documentary, looking back to what has been a bit of a terrible year.

There is no word on when the Black Mirror episode will be live on Netflix, or even if it will be out this year.
