Five years after its in-film date, Back to the Future 2 has been re-made by more than 300 fans currently at home, bored, and self-isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A DIY fan-made tribute to the original film called Project 88 has just landed online. It was created by a community of loyal fans currently self-isolating.
Over 300 people from nine countries contributed to the film, dubbed ‘Back to the Future Too’. Expect puppets, pets, animations and a variety of live-action styles across its 88 pre-defined scenes.
The cast and crew completed their scenes all while complying with stay-at-home orders and social distancing guidelines. The project even managed to include some of the film’s original actors.
The 1-hour and 45-minute tribute matches the 1989 blockbuster for length, and the film has now been made available to stream for free on YouTube.
The team behind the film have suggested anyone who enjoys the film donate to the No Kid Hungry initiative, as well as the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
