Ricky Gervais is being replaced… by the people he replaced

For better or worse, Ricky Gervais has presented the Golden Globes ceremony five times – and recently claimed that this year’s awards show would be his last as host.

But previously, Saturday Night Live alumni and the stars of movies likes Mean Girls and Sisters, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted for three years on the trot. And now, they’re back!

Yup, less than a week after the 2020 Golden Globes, it has been announced that the 2021 ceremony will be hosted by the comedy duo.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Poehler herself made the announcement while pretending to be NBC’s chief of communications Chip Sullivan at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour.

While we have hosts already, there’s no date in the calendar for the 2021 Globes just yet.

Gervais’ most recent hosting gig featured him making a few digs at Marvel movies, claiming that the people starring in the movies aren’t acting, but their job is to “wear masks and capes, and really tight costumes.
