Riz Ahmed – star of Venom and Rogue One – along with Anthony Head (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) will star in a new podcast adventure series based around the Assassin’s Creed videogame.
The podcast – which is produced in association with Amazon’s Audible – will take inspiration from the rich lore of the videogame series to create Assassin’s Creed: Gold.
The series mimics the videogames penchant for historical scenarios, and this new series is rumoured to be based around 17th century Britain. It follows street criminal Aliyah Khan, who is recruited to the order of the Assassin’s and encouraged to find the buried memories of her ancestors.
The name ‘Gold’ is a potential clue as to what the series will be about. In the 17th century Britain the currency was silver, not gold.
It is said that physicist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton will also make an appearance in the series.
Assassin’s Creed: Gold is due to release on February 27, 2020.
