Today is the day: the final Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer will air today, on Carrie Fisher’s birthday.
It also marks the first day that you’ll be able to pre-order seats for the new film, which officially lands on screens in December.
The official Star Wars Twitter account has teased the new trailer, which will be broadcast during Monday Night Football. The second-long clip shows Rey, Chewie, Finn and Poe.
Carrie Fisher died suddenly in 2016, at the age of 60. Today – October 21st – would have been her 63rd birthday. Princess Leia will still appear in this movie, via previously unseen footage.

Tickets will officially go on sale after the trailer airs, via online ticket reseller Fandango.
“It’s the end of an era, and fans cannot wait to see the epic conclusion to the Skywalker saga that began more than four decades ago,” Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis said in a statement. “‘The Rise of Skywalker’ is truly among the biggest and most anticipated films ever, and we are beyond excited to see how this momentous chapter in ‘Star Wars’ storytelling nears its end.”
Rumours have been circulating about when the trailer will air for a few weeks now. Just yesterday John Boyega was teasing fans.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will officially open Dec. 20.
