Emilia Clarke is back with her first big project post Game of Thrones finale in May.
She’ll star alongside Henry Golding in Last Christmas, a rom-com that follows a cynical young woman whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of a mysterious man.
The film – whose title is a reference to the classic ‘80s by Wham! – Sees Clarke play Clare, a Christmas cynic who works in a festive store. It also stars Michelle Yeoh, who starred in Crazy Rich Asians with Golding.
The feature was co-written by Emma Thompson (who also plays Clarke’s mother) and directed by Paul Feig, the filmmaker behind the 2018 film, A Simple Favor.
During the film, Clarke’s character confides to Golding that she almost died, twice. Clarke said that hit especially close to home, as the British actress said she suffered from two life-threatening aneurysms while on the set of Game of Thrones.
