Seth Rogan was at Comic-Con (of course he was) to promote his show Preacher, but couldn’t help but take a stab at the lacklustre final season of Game of Thrones.
The Hollywood actor, comedian and producer called the final series of HBO’s fantasy show, “anti-climactic.
He also went as so far to say the appearance of Game of Thrones cast members at Comic-Con was a, “f***ing nightmare of a panel” after showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff failed to address fans at the festival.
Rogan was at the festival to promote his show Preacher, and in a clear knife in the back said its final season would be, “fast-paced and satisfying – you know, like the end of a TV show”.
“I just wanna say we’re following the Game of Thrones panel, which is a f***ing nightmare, just objectively,” he said.
“I also know that the showrunners didn’t turn up because they didn’t want to answer questions about the show … I’m not one of the creators of Game of Thrones, I am the creator of other TV shows, so feel free to ask me any Game of Thrones questions you might have throughout the night.”
The crowd took him up on the offer, asking him questions about the controversial ending that saw Bran take the throne. Rogan didn’t hold back.
“I imagine those guys regret making Bran the King because, ultimately, he doesn’t have the best story,” he said. “[Arya] learned all that face shit, where’d it go?”
Rogan then brushed off Jamie and Cersei’s death under a pile of rubble, saying “You don’t want to follow these people for three years and then have them die in rubble. Anti-climactic.” He suggested a better ending would have been for Jamie to kill the sister he loved, instead.
When fans enquired about the upcoming fourth season, Rogan took another jab at Game of Thrones saying, “I’m here, at least, so I think that’s a good sign. I’m willing to show my face”.
