Quentin Tarantino has hit the end of the road for filmmaking, and now wanting to move onto writing plays

Quentin Tarantino is surely one of the most interesting directors of modern cinema.

He has carved out his own genre; one of surrealism, action and mystery. He stands as one of the most beloved directors in the world, but his tenure could be coming to an end.

But Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – the film revolving aroundn the world of Hollywood during the Manson murders – could very well be the last Tarantino work on the big screen.

The director has said in the past that he intends to make ten films before ducking out of the industry for good. Sadly, this latest film, if it is his last would make him actually close shop a bit earlier. It’s his ninth feature film.

Speaking to GQ Australia, he said, “I think when it comes to theatrical movies, I’ve come to the end of the road.

“I see myself writing books and starting to write theatre, so I’ll still be creative. I just think I’ve given all I have to give to movies.”

“If it’s [Once Upon A Time In Hollywood] really well received, maybe I won’t go to ten. Maybe I’ll stop right now! Maybe I’ll stop while I’m ahead. We’ll see.”

We’re sorry to say it, but it looks like Kill Bill Vol.3 may never happen. Though he always played with the idea of a Star Trek film of all things. To us though, that doesn’t sound like a fitting send off.

Tarantino kicked off his career with Reservoir Dogs in 1992, a film infamous for its unusual use of ‘time’, using time in a non-linear fashion was a big no-no in Hollywood as no one expects the audience to have a big enough brain to make sense of all the jumping around.

He continued with Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill: Volume 1 + 2, Deathproof, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight.

We wonder what a Tarantino play might look like, gruesome and grotesque? Will ketchup be squirted at the highest paying audience members at the front when someone is stabbed on stage?

How might a novel look? We have a hunch a Tarantino novel would be one of those make your own adventure type things, that seems pretty him.
