The two bonded over new film, ‘The Dead Don’t Die’

Out of 2019’s summer blockbuster lineup, there’s no film in the bunch more random than the upcoming zombie film, The Dead Don’t Die, starring Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, and Selena Gomez.

And since random breeds random, it makes all the more sense that the film has produced one of the most unlikely friendships in recent Hollywood memory: Bill Murray and Selena Gomez.

Speaking with People on the red carpet during the film’s Monday premiere, Murray said of his co-star Gomez, “I learned that whatever preconception I had about someone that had 55 million, billion followers of something—maybe, I probably thought she was different than she turned out to be.”

And it turns out he and Gomez really get along! He added: “If my mother were alive I’d bring her home to her,”

What do we think the Ghostbusters star and Wizards of Waverly Place star actually talk about?

The hilariously perfect friendship between the two went viral a few weeks back when Murray noted to Vanity Fair that he found Gomez “unusually bright,” adding, “I mean, you still can’t tell me who the hell Selena Gomez is.” Clearly Murray hasn’t watched the Kid’s Choice Awards once in the last decade or so.

Their movie, The Dead Don’t Die, debuted at Cannes late last month but will make its official wide release this Friday, June 14. Hopefully Selena and Bill’s new friendship will last for years to come. Either way, there’s only one thing left to do. Cast them in the next Men In Black reboot, you cowards.
