After months of speculation and rumours about new actors being interviewed for the James Bond role, it has turned out that none other than Craig, Daniel Craig, has finally confirmed his return as the Aston Martin driving super spy.
Appearing on the US chat show, The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert asked Craig if he was going to play the role again. The usually secretive actor responded with a “Yes” and was met with a handshake from Colbert, ecstatic cheering from the studio audience, and what seemed like an infinite amount of tweets from excited fans all over the world.
“We’ve been discussing it, we’ve just been trying to figure things out, and I always wanted to, I just needed a break,” added Craig.
Fans will certainly be looking forward to that yet untitled Bond 25 as, according to Craig himself, it will be his last appearance, “This is it, I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.” Yeah, Daniel. Like we haven’t heard that one before.
The 25th release of the James Bond series is due to be released in November 2019.
The agent who made his debut in 2006 in Casino Royale, will make this his fifth and final appearance in this installment of the 007 franchise after previously starring in Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).
Daniel Craig’s announcement has got us sitting on the edge of our seats. And sure, we’re going to be perched that way for the next two years, but as long as Craig delivers another stellar performance, it’s definitely going to be worth the wait.
