In what came as a shock to absolutely no one, Daniel Craig stepped away from the mantle of James Bond, by reportedly turning down Dhs360 million to resume his role as 007.
It makes sense then that all the talk since has been focused on who will step up and be the next to don the suit (and drink the Martinis). Tom Hiddleston’s name has been bandied about, and we’ve been debating in the office which of our duo of May 2016 cover stars, Idris Elba and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, would work best. But who says that the suit can’t fit a more delicate figure. Enter Gillian Anderson.
The Fall and The X-Files actress took to Social Media this week to drop a somewhat sizable hint that she would be willing to take over from Craig as MI6’s deadliest weapon, tweeting:
It's Bond. Jane Bond.
Thanks for all the votes! (And sorry, don't know who made poster but I love it!) #NextBond pic.twitter.com/f8GC4ZuFgL— Gillian Anderson (@GillianA) May 21, 2016
Maybe a lady’s touch is just what the famous franchise needs…
