Ever wanted to get your Point Break on, but realized that a) you don’t live in Southern California and, b) you’re not Keanu Reeves? That dream will soon come true as Dubai has just announced the opening of its first year-round indoor surf spot, Surfbase. Slated to open doors in 2024… or 2025, at the latest.

Contrary to popular belief that surfers guard their oceanic terrain like the mafia, Surfbase will open its doors to everyone from uninitiated groms, to the most seasoned of barrel shredders. And no matter how hot it is outside, this indoor space will always remain exceptionally chilled out, my dude. Though surfing has its challenges, Surfbase will offer personal training for aspiring wave riders of all skill levels, and if you’re feeling extra saucy, it can even host your corporate events.

The generated waves will reach between .8 to 3 meters in height and 30 meters wide, which will earn it the record for being the largest in the world.

And if that’s not enough, you’ll find a gym, yoga studio, restaurant, surf house, and lounge area on the premises.

So if you haven’t seen Point Break yet already, now’s a good time to do it. And it’ll give you plenty of time to grow out your hair, my dude.
