Break out of your brunch and pool-day routine by scoping out the three hottest exhibitions in town this weekend

ART, ART EXHIBITS, CULTURE, DUBAI.

What: From Fashion to Art

Where: Oblong Gallery, Bluewaters

Why we’re going: Here at Esquire we’re all about slick style and fine art, so Oblong galleries merging of the two makes it a dead cert for our weekend antics. The work comes from iconic Italian artist, Flavio Lucchini, who creates sculpted clothing rendered in bronze resin and steel as well as experimental works from other mediums such as bas-relief, painting and digital art. Très chic

What: Art of Motorcycles Show 2020

Where: Warehouse Four, Al Quoz

Why we’re going: Know more about Harley Davidsons than Honoré Daumier? Fear not – there’s an artistic hope for you yet. This super accessible and impressibly varied exhibition of art and photography uses all things motorcycles as its muse, showcasing interpretations of the two-wheeled vehicle through invited builders, collectors and private owners. Perfect for the motorheads looking to live their weekend in the proverbial fast lane.

What: Between Me and The Stone

Where: Showcase Gallery, Alserkal Avenue

Why we’re going: A Zimbabwe export, Dominic Benhura is considered one of the most important Shona sculptors globally – a fact well backed by over 30 solo exhibitions. Playful yet sophisticated, his work is a striking example of Shona sculpture, which is a medium often carved to express  both personal and spiritual beliefs.
